KTM HAS KICKED OFF A REVOLUTION FOR OFFROAD ENDUROS: ITS KTM 250 EXC TPI AND 300 EXC TPI MODELS ARE THE WORLD’S FIRST SERIAL PRODUCTION FUEL INJECTED 2-STROKE OFFROAD MOTORCYCLES.
KTM has traditionally recommended MOTOREX products, thus relying on the Swiss oil blending company for all its models. The same goes for the two new 2-stroke models KTM 250 EXC TPI and KTM 300 EXC TPI. With its popular, tried-and-tested CROSS POWER 2T motor oil, MOTOREX offers a racing quality product that reduces combustion residues and is suitable for even the toughest of offroad tracks. It is only logical that MOTOREX was involved in the development of the two new TPI 2-stroke models. This guarantees that CROSS POWER 2T will always keep the motor perfectly lubricated, whatever the conditions, with the new injection technology.
MOTOREX and KTM have cooperated closely since 2003, both on serial-produced bikes and in moto racing. Apart from the initial filling in every machine that leaves Mattighofen, the cooperation also includes MotoGP activities: MOTOREX supports KTM's involvement in the elite class of motorcycle racing as their technology partner.
The two new KTM EXC TPI models with engine sizes of 250 or 300 cubic centimetres are the world's first competition enduros with 2-stroke fuel injection. The acronym "TPI" in their name stands for "Transfer Port Injection". The ground-breaking technology has various advantages over carburetor engines, including a further efficiency increase, lower emissions and even smoother engine power output. It also renders the pre-mixing of fuel and lubricant normally required for carburetor motors just as obsolete as adjusting the jetting needle for different external conditions. The new KTM 250/300 EXC TPI models will be launched in June 2017.
MOTOREX CROSS POWER 2T is available from specialised dealers in the award-winning 1-litre container with integrated filler neck. Other available container sizes are 4, 25 and 60 litres.
